We worked with Mendicant as we were adapting our autism programs in Brantford and Halton Region to the new fee for service model and they understood our challenges right away. They gave us an outline of what we needed and we used that information to make a successful funding request to the province. Over the course of a few months, they helped us better understand our program costs, conducted research with our families, worked with us on pricing our services, and provided briefings and training to our staff and board. They’re also fun to work with - professional but with a sense of humour. We’d definitely work with them again.

retired Executive Director of Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services

We engaged Mendicant Group to help our national board take an evidence-based look at how we can best represent our growing community from all areas of the country. They researched and presented different models of how other organizations do this and also analyzed our internal practices to allow our board to make an informed decision. Our engagement with Mendicant was one of the best consulting engagements that we have had in terms of quality and fit … they were) … sensitive to our needs and able to take a customized and measured approach to our needs.

Brian Baker

National Executive Director The Directors Guild of Canada

Our goal for strategic planning was to review our environmental NGO’s mission and objectives and plan for growth over the next three years. The directors specified that strategic planning had to be done in one day. Mendicant’s approach worked well. The methodology is intuitive and easy to follow and enabled us to the make the best use of our time. We strongly recommend Mendicant for simple, affordable and actionable strategic planning.

John Willms

Board Member, Earthroots

We approached Mendicant Group to help us create a plan to grow our organization in a sustainable and strategic manner. Mendicant provided a straightforward, template-driven process that not only delivered a three-year plan for us, but also good content for our fundraising, advocacy and community engagement.

Jonathan Wood

Chair & Chief Engagement Officer, Toronto Accessible Sports Council (TASC)

Mendicant led us through an excellent strategic planning process that helped us to determine what our organization should be doing over the next five years. We appreciated the fact that their methodology focused our attention on creating tangible outcome statements that then led us to create key actions to accomplish them. From our organization’s perspective, this was the most useful strategic planning process that we have had.

Mike Bender

Board Chair, Trans Canada Trail Ontario (TCTO)

Our work with the Mendicant team over a number of years was a very productive relationship. They researched and wrote two business plans which had a significant impact on our annual growth. They have facilitated numerous sessions for us, worked with different staff teams on large and small projects, not the least of which was our 2009 national entrepreneurship summit. The work has been consistently strong and Alex is a very professional, passionate and committed person to work with.

Terry Campbell

Chief Operating Officer at Futurpreneur Canada (formerly known as CYBF)

We engaged Alex and Mendicant Group to research the market for a military-to-entrepreneurship transition program. From their assessment, they designed The Prince's Operation Entrepreneur and helped us bring together the best partners to run it. They also designed and implemented the annual evaluation for the program. Their work has been professional and innovative and has helped us make a difference in the lives of hundreds of former military professionals. We are very proud of the program and showcase it to others in the Prince's global network as a great example of what Canada has done in the field.

Amanda Sherrington

President and CEO at Prince’s Charities Canada (later Prince’s Trust Canada)

We worked with Alex from 2005 to 2021 and it was an incredibly productive partnership. Through his work, we increased our revenue by more than 150% and that turned us into what is arguably the most cost-effective small association in Ontario. With a modest staff complement, we have very low member attrition rates and regularly engage with the highest levels of government. Our annual cleantech business summit and lobby day at the Ontario legislature now attract hundreds of executives from across Ontario. Our board has enjoyed working with Alex. He’s professional and efficient with just the right amount of humour to complement a businesslike approach.

Derek Webb

Chair, Ontario Environment Industry Association (ONEIA)

Alex and his team were an important part of the Office of the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth's 2011 Youth Leaving Care Hearings. The project, organized and run by youth with the support of the Advocate's Office, highlighted the systemic problems youth face when they leave the foster care system. Alex and his team were great to work with - always professional, focused and committed to the idea of helping these vulnerable youth.

James McGuirk

Project Lead, Office of the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth

We worked with Mendicant Group to assess our organization’s social enterprise and to help us decide whether or not we should expand our operations. Mendicant provided us with a comprehensive review of the processes we use as well as a cost analysis to help us understand the financial feasibility of our enterprise. Working with Mendicant saved us a lot of time and effort and provided us with a detailed review of the gaps and fixes needed. The final presentation was comprehensive and shed light on areas that we needed to focus upon as UforChange embarks upon the next stage of organizational growth. The Mendicant team was professional and fun to work with.
